FAQ

Where does the course content come from?

We specialize in custom courseware, so the content comes from you. But that doesn’t mean it has to be organized into a neat package. We work with source content in various forms – including documents, presentations, outdated course materials, a subject matter expert, or simply a good understanding of your goals. It’s not necessary to have your content organized, either (often, it’s not!). As part of our design process, we gather information and help make sense of it.

Do you have courses ready for purchase?

Our main focus is on tailoring courses specifically for each client.  In the future, we will have a small library of courses to help learners acquire practical skills that they can apply to their working environments.

How do you develop a course on a topic you don’t know about?

We are experts in tackling topics that we aren’t familiar with, and work closely with your subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy. During our discovery process, we get to know your goals, target audience, and environment. Along the way, you see work in progress and give us feedback, including if the content is on target. It can even be an asset to have a “newbie” perspective about content, as we can see things that learners might need that experts might overlook. We’ve developed courses on a wide range of topics including information security, HIPPA compliance, revenue cycle management, and Salesforce development.

Will the course be branded with my logo?

Yes. We will work with you to not only include your logo on the course, but follow any branding guidelines your organization follows, such as color scheme, font, and logo placement.

You offer e-learning and instructional videos – How would I decide which one I need?

Instructional videos (i.e., video tutorials) are a great option when you want to explain or show a procedure, but you don’t necessarily need to track learner activity. Videos might demonstrate software, or give a brief explanation of a concept, for example. Videos tend to be shorter in duration. E-learning courses are best for tracking learner activity and high levels of interactivity, such as quizzes and activities. E-learning courses often have longer durations. We offer both services separately, or integrated with one another.

Will the course STREETCAR8 develops work with my organization’s Learning Management System (LMS)?

Yes, if your LMS supports common standards such as SCORM 2004, SCORM 1.2, and AICC. Early in our development process, we will test to ensure that the course is compatible with your LMS platform.

What if I don’t have an LMS?

There are different options we can consult with you on regarding non-LMS publication of your e-learning course. These include publishing on content servers or your website. We can advise on learning management systems and whether they might be right for you as well based on your goals. If we are creating a video tutorial for you, those can be published on video streaming sites such as Vimeo and YouTube, as well as your website. We won’t create anything that isn’t able to be accessed by your learners.

Are your courses mobile-ready / responsive?

Absolutely. If this is a priority for you, we’ll walk you through the process to ensure the course is accessible from the mobile devices your learners use.

How much does a typical course cost?

We will need to learn more about your needs to really answer this question. There are many factors that go into the pricing, including course length, interactivity levels, and the media assets you want included. If your budget is limited, we’ll discuss more budget-friendly options to help achieve your goals.

How long does it take to develop a course?

Like cost, development time also depends on how complex the course is and how long it will take the typical learner to complete it. As part of our scoping process, we will give you more specific timeline estimates.

Who owns the course when it’s done?

You own all rights to the course. We don’t charge any additional fees once the course is complete, either. When you are satisfied that the course meets your needs, you will get files for publication as well as any source files for future maintenance.
